Chef Erin and her helper Amy

The Chefs.JPG

Erin and Amy catered a Valentine's dinner (for 12) for my wine club. The ambiance was wonderful and the food delicious: homemade ravioli, crabcakes, fresh asparagus, yummy salad, and creme broulee for dessert. We were serenaded by a barbershop quartet as we sipped on champagne and ate chocolate covered strawberries. All of this planned by the wine club auxillary. Guess we'll keep them around for awhile.

I think Erin has inherited her culinary talents from Grandma Zins - right down to the apron.

Annual Review

In my review of the website, I've noticed our posts have slipped quite a bit since last March. Last March everyone posted anything that happened to them, are we growing apart as a family? Or do we all lead a that boring of an existence. As for payment, my sister with her fresh new job and disposable income has offered to make my payment this year. Thanks AJ. As for the Hulke family we are trudging along with a child who recently managed to come down with both pneumonia and strep throat. I called Jeff and Sheila and they recomended only one thing, immunizations. We were also recently guests of The Matthews family for an anniversary brunch, not sure what the anniversary was. Maybe their second date or first marriage proposal, nonetheless a good time was had by all. Below is a picture of my family as we ate and listened to Riley recite the dictionatry. Even with his vast array of words, his favorites - besides ball, game, grandma and grandpa - tend to be the cuss words he's managed to pick up along the way. No more watching Dad play racquetball I guess.

It's been a year!

Not quite. I checked and March 3 officially marks a year that we've been posting on here. But! I bought the web space a year ago and that means it's time to renew. It is $180 for the year. Not sure how we want to divide this up - five ways? More ways?

Okay, so I know I watch a lot of tv, but has anyone else seen In a Fix on TLC? Sparky is a little bit hot. Plus, real carpenters!

Also, please don't make me hunt you down and make you post. News! I want news! Did the girls pass their driving test? Is Gage a chiropractor yet? Scott, what does the sun look like? Did Seth get braids? Mom, where are the pictures from the Valentine's party? Lisa when are you redesigning my landscaping? I hate rocks and ugly bushes! Is my brother still alive out there in the boonies?

Uncle Ed

Dad would like you all to know that his brother, Ed, has suffered a heart attack and is in Rochester Mayo as of now. Apparently he told Sandy he wasn't feeling well on Friday, then told her she needed to get him to the hospital, and after 10 minutes in Mankato they airlifted him to Rochester. He was on life support for some time, but now has been 'upgraded' to intensive care where they will watch him very closely for a day or so. Two of his arteries were totally blocked and his blood sugar was over 400, which is diabetic. This is a guy who has refused to go to a doctor for over 20 years, according to his brother.

That is the bulk of what Dad told me in a phone conversation Saturday night. Hope I got the facts straight. Dad, please comment if you have anything to add or update. Lots of prayers needed again.

is this thing on?

Family! We need to get this going again.

The Apprentice. Who's watching? And if you're not watching, why aren't you? Why didn't Kristi fight for herself at all? Why is Omarosa still there? Why does Heidi think she's a hottie? Idaho boy - put the cowboy hat *down*.

America's Next Top Model. Anyone? Does anyone know Catie? She is from Willmar after all. Can you tell me why she cries constantly? She's going home next week. Mercedes is my girl.

Survivor. It's the All Stars! I've heard that Richard smuggled matches on his um, person. Hmmm. Wonder where he put them?

Wolves. Is this their year? Can they go all the way? Two players and a coach on the All Star team - not bad!

Jeff & Sheila did you watch Angel this week? I miss Cordelia! It was nice to have her back, even if just for an episode.

lurkers, feel welcome to comment.
