Thanks for the Weekend!

Here's our completed masterpiece. Of course the camera and lighting don't do it justice, it's much better in person. We can hardly wait to do another one but we'll go a little easier on the grout next time, huh Curt?
Thanks Lisa & Stan for a fun-filled holiday weekend. We know it was a lot of work, but its so nice to be around family!
A special thank you to Stan for the potato salad. Yum.

And Now For Something Completely Different

As I have grown tired of singing Dad's "Rubber Dolly" song to Gage, I was going to switch to Gram's "Little Red Schoolhouse" ditty but found I am missing some lyrics. Any help would be appreciated. I'll start you off:

In the Little Red Schoolhouse, with my book and my slate,
In the Little Red Schoolhouse, I was always late.
Ten O'clock spelling lesson just begun,
Johnny threw an ink well just for fun.
Hit the teacher's eye with an awful splat,
she turned around and said "Who did that?!"
....
That's all I can remember.
I tried Kazaa, but they were no help.

The Wedding

The wedding day was picture perfect, the church in the country a beautiful setting and the ceremony was personal and from the heart. Lonni, Kristina, and Olivia became a family and we all shed a few tears of happiness. The reception site on Lake Minnetonka gave us all a chance to enjoy the evening. We ate and drank and danced until our feet hurt.

I know you were all there with us in spirit - we felt the good wishes. I'm so thrilled to have Kristina as the newest member of Dood's Brood.

Cell Number

Just so everyone knows, my cell phone number is changing. It's now 612-597-5552 I may have it tattooed somewhere as I'm quite sure I'll never remember it.

The wedding is tomorrow! Looks like it will be beautiful weather. I'll take my camera along and post pictures on Sunday if possible.

Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine!

EASTER CELEBRATION

dadbunny.jpg

The Head Easter Bunny has volunteered his real Favorite, Lisa, to host Easter this year...well, he didn't exactly volunteer me, it was more of a "hell, no, I'm not having Easter!", but I took that as a sign...

The tentative weekend schedule is as follows:

Saturday, 12:00 - Lunch
Saturday, 1:00 - Easter Egg Dye and Cookie Bake
Saturday, 6:30 - Dinner at Restaurant of Choice, OR
Burgers on Stan's Grill (which means Potato Salad, Sheila!)
Saturday, 7:30 - Movie Night--Malts and Popcorn
Sunday, 7:30 - Early Church (negotiable)
Sunday, 9:00 - Breakfast
Sunday, 10:00 - Easter Egg Hunt
Sunday, 12:00 - Easter Dinner
Sunday, 2:00 - Much-awaited "Secret Craft", continuing Kathy's tradition

This is the first attempt I've made at communicating with everyone in the family, so consider yourselves all invited and made aware. Now, let me know who plans on coming and when. We can switch the schedule around any way that works for everyone. My boys love the egg dying and cookie baking, and of course, Boomer and AJ always love hunting for the plastic eggs with money in them (Dad, bring lots of $$ for the plasic eggs, please!)

The Matthews will take care of the Ham, Potatos and Vegetable, and Kathy will be bringing everyone's favorite, her Cake Roll and a Cheesecake. Can everyone else bring a dish to pass? (AJ, that means YOU, too)

I realize with everyone's busy lives, it may be impossible for everyone to be here, but I'm going to hope for the best, just let me know! Scott, you may want to book your flight because I know how much you enjoyed the Craft at Christmas--this one might take a little more artistic skill and patience...
