Great Grunst Ride 2010!

Bikers.jpg

I am assuming that we will all be meeting up at Dad's place on Saturday, July 3 to team up and go to Dr. John's on the way up to Woman Lake. If this is not the case, I would like to know why? Let's all head up to the cabin together!

Oh yeah, we will all be there, although this time I will be pulling a boat and watching Elmo on the portable DVD player. More room to bring lots of stuff! Curt will be on his Harley, but my gear will be packed and ready to go for our rides around lake country. First stop Hutch for coffee? Lunch in St. Cloud. Check in time is 3:00. Happy Hour at 4:00!

Make sure you have your A game ready for the bean bag toss tourney.

No way will we be meeting at Dad's, that drive once in a week is enough for us!!!! Just kidding, we know you aren't expecting us down there but you can be sure we'll meet you with bells on at 3:00 pm sharp at the resort!!!

Figuring out when Stan, Sam, Seth and Alyssa are leaving is more challenging than fixing the damn oil spill. We may see you at Johns, we may not. What I do know is that Stan is beyond excited to road trip with his step-daughter! I hope he knows we're playing drinking games the whole way up. I can't wait to see everyone!!!

AJ, if you can manage to ride on two floats during the Friendship Day's parade and change shirts from Doodsbrood to Rapid Rick's Bar in front of a block of parade onlookers, you can figure out how to get up the Lodge!

What I want to know is this: is the group that will leave from Scibby Balls' house (Dad)detouring out to see Dr. John's Ranch on the ride up? When I talked to him on the phone, he extended the invitation and since it was the highlight of Scott's trip last year, I think we should try for a repeat. That way John can pass the baton off to Scott for the GFMR Journaling duties. Plus, I'm sure there are raspberries waiting for me again.

Scott? Dad? Kathy? What is the decision? I would like to stop since it is so close. If we leave by 9:00, we should have time for a quick detour.

The twin tornadoes will dictate if we make the detour to the farm. We'll plan on it, but we'll see who/what wins out - Elmo or nap time.

Stan and I have already discussed the Matthews transportation issues. We have our logistics department working out the details.

And Dad informed me that he is planning on using Fran's king-size cooler to transport all of those pork chops. Who gets to carry that on the back of your bike?

What mom really meant is that if there is Uncle John's jelly waiting for us at John's, the twin tornadoes will surely be there since Caden alone ate approximately 10 pieces of toast (More! More!) with that on it. If they're napping, we'll just roll on through and someone can throw the jelly in through the window.

Hey, I had to represent 2 families that day, not an easy task!! I did have a tank top on, it's not like I was naked.

Kathy, I'm glad you and Stan have it all figured out because after reading mom's email this morning, my head was spinning.

The twins won't dictate my drinking schedule will they?

As long as you can figure out the dvd player and/or have a twin on one hip while cocktail in hand, you should be able to drink whenever AJ!

Anybody that wants to do the 4th of July craft needs to bring a plain t-shirt (not white). Lisa, are you still picking up some at the craft store? If so, can you get Gage one in a kid's M or L?

I have bowed out of the travel planning project, apparently my skills are no match for the MTU Onsite Energy duo, who have it all figured out already.

Instead, I'm going to focus on planning ways to keep my Sportster's back tire out from underneath any 4 wheel vehicle's front bumper. Well, that and how to fit 12 jars of raspberry jam into an already full bike bag.

Sheila--I totally forgot about the t-shirts, I'll try to get by Michael's and grab some today.

Lisa, if you want, feel free to pick up a couple for the adults here too...

In addition to doing 5 million things to get ready to go today, we just found out that our dishwasher has been recalled due to fire hazard so we need to find a new one and disconnect the old one before the house burns down!

By the way, Gage will be bringing his bike, thought I mention that in case Sammy wants to bring one too so the two of them can tear around like manics!

There is something to be said about having to fit a week's worth of clothes and food onto the back of a bike. Lord, I have been packing totes and bags and coolers for a week! If I don't have it - we won't need it.
