In order to pull off this monumental event, the "planning committee" decided we needed a plan of action. The party is slated for Saturday, October 29th at the Mug 'N Jug in Nicollet. Party time is 7:00 - 10:00 p.m. with family pictures at 6:45 p.m. And straight from the old sea dad's mouth, "Anyone in Harley gear gets a drink on me!" (Don't worry, Curt and I have plenty of black leather to go around).
Here are the assignments:
Photographer - Curt will contact a friend to take the formal photos. Our own family photographers, Sheila and Kristina, can have at it the rest of the evening.
Invitations - Lisa - she will be sending invitations to each of the nursing homes in the area!
Food - Curt and Kathy
Publicity - (newspaper and posters) Kathy
Decorations - Jeff and Sheila
Masters of Ceremony - Scott and John - we are expecting great things: a roast, This is Your Life, an Only Solution revival... be creative!
Entertainment - Slide show to music - we volunteered Erin to pull this together. Please get your pictures and mementos to her by October 1st. Scott, this is your chance to empty out your archives!
We will ask Kathy Gleason if she would play her electronic keyboard for a little dinner music - maybe an hour or so.
Any other ideas, suggestions or offers to help will be appreciated. If we do a really good job, maybe we can skip #85!!!!
I thought of a party favor - temporary tattoos! I thought we could get some Harley tattoos for the family. I also know of a source where we can custom design our own temporary tattoo. What do you think - Happy Birthday Dood or a G?
Posted by: erin at September 6, 2005 03:21 PMI like the tatoo idea! Maybe Harley wings with a G? We were trying to think of a fun favor for the party during our brainstorming session. Best we could do was a button with Dad's picture.
Posted by: kathy at September 7, 2005 08:01 AMI came across this website when looking up info about Nicollet MN. I was surprised to stumble upon a former high school classmate, Erin. What are you doing these days? What do you do for a living? Are you married? Kids? Do you keep in touch with any of our other classmates? What are they doing these days? It looks like you are doing great! Neat family website. Now, I'm not going to sign my name but make you wonder who wrote this....Hmmmm......
