The Head Easter Bunny has volunteered his real Favorite, Lisa, to host Easter this year...well, he didn't exactly volunteer me, it was more of a "hell, no, I'm not having Easter!", but I took that as a sign...
The tentative weekend schedule is as follows:
Saturday, 12:00 - Lunch
Saturday, 1:00 - Easter Egg Dye and Cookie Bake
Saturday, 6:30 - Dinner at Restaurant of Choice, OR
Burgers on Stan's Grill (which means Potato Salad, Sheila!)
Saturday, 7:30 - Movie Night--Malts and Popcorn
Sunday, 7:30 - Early Church (negotiable)
Sunday, 9:00 - Breakfast
Sunday, 10:00 - Easter Egg Hunt
Sunday, 12:00 - Easter Dinner
Sunday, 2:00 - Much-awaited "Secret Craft", continuing Kathy's tradition
This is the first attempt I've made at communicating with everyone in the family, so consider yourselves all invited and made aware. Now, let me know who plans on coming and when. We can switch the schedule around any way that works for everyone. My boys love the egg dying and cookie baking, and of course, Boomer and AJ always love hunting for the plastic eggs with money in them (Dad, bring lots of $$ for the plasic eggs, please!)
The Matthews will take care of the Ham, Potatos and Vegetable, and Kathy will be bringing everyone's favorite, her Cake Roll and a Cheesecake. Can everyone else bring a dish to pass? (AJ, that means YOU, too)
I realize with everyone's busy lives, it may be impossible for everyone to be here, but I'm going to hope for the best, just let me know! Scott, you may want to book your flight because I know how much you enjoyed the Craft at Christmas--this one might take a little more artistic skill and patience...
Posted by Lisa at April 6, 2003 7:32 PMI will be there for easter egg dyeing, dinner and possibly movie night on Saturday. Church at 7:30 am? Looks like there will be no Easter service for Erin this year.
I want to make these potato bread dinner rolls but I need to read through the recipe again. Hopefully I can make them sometime on Saturday and they'll still be good Sunday.
Thanks for hosting!
I probably won't be coming this year, although Kaila is quite an Easter egg hunting dog. Have fun. We'll be alone here in Paradise but not a bad place to be lonely.
I will hopefully be there for all the events, no offense but that may be a little too much family time---especially the weekend before my birthday. Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches can be used as a dish right?
The Round Lake Grunsts will not miss a minute of the Family Fun!! AJ, how can you say it might be too much family time! We are planning on bringing a new recipe (again) that we haven't tried: Cabin Slaw. That potato salad sounds very yummy, Stan. Let us know if we are staying in Saturday night as we may also bring a new soup (that we haven't tried, of course. Family make such good guinea pigs): Minnesota Chowder.
We're counting the days!!!
AJ,
It's time to become Martha Stewart-like --- follow in the footsteps of your female Grunst elders. I am suggesting you bring Green Bean Casserole for your dish to pass. Seems that used to be the only contribution from someone in your family. Check with your mother --- I think she might have the recipe!
Don't forget the PEA SALAD that Dad enjoys so much. But wait, maybe Dad is bringing that dish. Better check with him first. What's Easter anyway? Just another day around here.
That Easter Bunny can do just about anything these days --- from putting a dock in the water to dyeing Easter eggs! He could certainly supply all the candy for the baskets from his stash in the basement refrigerator.
Curt and I will be there for the egg hunt on Sunday morning. Wouldn't miss that for the world. Depending on the stage of construction on Lake Jefferson, we hope to make it for the fun on Saturday. Malts and popcorn???? Don't tempt me! Love those hard boiled eggs, tho!
Thanks for playing hostess - can't wait for the craft project. AJ --- have the wine chilled and ready!
